As Eric stated, the aim of this project is to provide the MacOS port team performant hardware to build the current MacOS X version OpenOffice.org, as well as the upcoming native port using Cocoa. My role in this project is to setup and monitor the box. The reasons why I accepted to take part in this project are simple : learning. I don't know much about OpenOffice.org development or building process, nor about MacOS X systems administration. It's a perfect opportunity for me to learn new things and to join the OO.org project. The Tinderbox project will be run jointly with my school (where Eric teaches) : they will provide final hardware hosting and bandwidth. Unfortunately, our school upload bandwidth is for the moment to low to make the build results available to the public, but we aim to take advantage of this project to make our school request larger bandwidth. An administration documentation will also be written in order to make the setup easily passed to another admin. During the last stage of the project, when the box will be fully set up and running, I may also take part to OO.org development or bug squashing. Thanks for your attention, and I hope I made the things a bit more clearer about how we will use this generous donation ! - Sam PS: http://blog.bulix.org/pub/tmp/powermac-g5.jpg << here is the box, at first boot ;) -- Maxime Petazzoni (http://www.bulix.org) -- gone crazy, back soon. leave message.
