Note that there is no installer for the version of OOo that you downloaded. Simply drag the application from the archive into your Applications folder.
The installer appears to crash when we click on it. It runs for a little while and then it just exits.
Note that OOo "for Mac OS X" is really poor naming, as it is really OOo for Darwin and can be run under OS X using Apple's X11. You must have X11 installed from the OS X installation disk in order for OOo to launch completely.
