well, it works well with TextEdit and MS Word v. X.
So this seems to be a problem of Pages and not our fault.

More on the problem :
- "save as MS Word 97/2000/XP" tested with a new two-lines file
created from scratch in OOo 2.0 : same thing
- "save as RTF" has also some problems, loosing the paragraph
formats (but the RTF can be opened by Pages)
