Hi all

I see the OpenVMS is located on a dyndns server
http://www.oooovms.dyndns.org/

why this choice ?
why is not hosted on OOo website ?
We decided to do this until our port had a certain status. We did not reach that point yet, but we are getting close. The status we define was a having fully functional dmake and a successful bootstrap.

Meanwhile, what is the status of this porting ?
We are mostly testing the new portability features in OpenVMS that should make porting a lot easier. And since we are a very small group, we need those features to make tis port feasible. We are working closely with OpenVMS engineering to solve issues, but unfortunately these things aren't happening as fast as we want them to. However we made some large steps these past weeks and at the end of this month we will receive a beta of the upcoming OpenVMS release. With this new release we really hope to finally get our show on the road.
Does something testable exists ?
As you can see on our site we do have a working dmake, but a lot of hacking was involved in creating that binary. We need to redo that build with the new porting features available to us. And this time it should be pretty simple. If not we are in a lot of trouble with the rest of the OpenOffice.org code. I also made great steps in getting tools like perl, java an python going in our unix like porting environment called GNV. This should allow us to start the bootstrap.
