Do you want to join the Mac OS X porting team? Brilliant Idea.

Well...
I'm very interested, but i have very few time to work on mac porting...

pro :
- i used to write mac software for years (mac OS 7/8/9 with Toolbox and MacApp)
- everyday, i keep an eye on news about mac porting

cons :
- very few time for this project (i fear i may spend a lot of time with the first compile...)
- i have never worked in a team...no experience with cvs, diff...
- my powerbook is still with 10.3.9

I really can't join before december (i'm writing elearning tools).
i'll keep you informed in december !

It's already february and i just started a build of OOo native !

I had a talk (on irc) with ericb last weekend and then he updated the aquabuild page on the wiki :
i started the build and everything was ok !
excepted the time : 36 hours !!!! (i dedicated an old [EMAIL PROTECTED] and 256Mb of Ram...) --> i'll have to find another solution : an external disk with 10.4 and OOo connected to a faster machine

I started to test and it is still very unstable, but ericb told me that he will send me (a lot of) patches still not in aquavcl01

I have some questions about patches :

how do i need to get organized to work with you ?
when i'll modify code on my disk :
- i need to keep an original version of the code to generate a patch ? How do i rename the original file ? - when a cvs checkout will be needed, my modified files will be overwritten ? - how do i generate a "good" patch, that can be used by others porters ? (1 patch for each modified file ?...)

I found only that page about that on the wiki : http://wiki.services.openoffice.org/wiki/Contributing_Patches but it doesn't answer to my questions.

Thank you

Michel
