Suggested timeline: 2024-08-09 - Create & merge PR to bump master branch's version to 4.0.0-SNAPSHOT 2024-09-15 - code freeze for 4.0 by branching branch-4.0 from master branch 2024-09-19 - target release date of 4.0 release candidate 1 2024-09-26 - target release date of 4.0 release candidate 2 2024-10-03 - target release date of 4.0 release candidate 3 2024-10-10 - target release date of 4.0 Unless there's another proposal for the timeline, let's do a lazy consensus decision on this timeline in the next 72 hours.
