Hi Peter,

I'm more than willing to run the tests under WinXP, subject to being told where the tests are and assuming adequate documentation.

Ok, if you like to run the automated tests, you will find general information about the testtool here:
http://qa.openoffice.org/qatesttool/index.html

You would need to download the testtool binary from this page (as the one, that is included in 1.1.5 is brocken :-( ).

The second thing you need, are the scripts. If you are used to cvs, you may get them via cvs (checkout qa/qatesttool with tag ooo115 or StarOffice7). If this is a problem to you, please tell me .. I'll upload a zip file of all with this tag (but this will need a little time).

If you have both, start the testtool. There is not much that needs to be configured. Just the paths to the scripts, logfiles ...
(see http://qa.openoffice.org/qatesttool/OOo_testtool.pdf, page 8).
On settings tab "Generic" you should add a Area "GUI Platform" and a value of "501" for that area (to tell the testtool, you are running on WinXP).

If all is configured, try to run a simple test. OOo must not be running (it will be startet by the testtool).
Load the script framework\first\smoketest.bas and try to run it (hit F5).

If this works for you, you may run more tests, starting them manually or you may use the batch file script\win32\OOoTestRun_win32.bat. This will run most of the relevant tests. (You will ned to change the batch file for your environment ... path to testtool etc.) Running all tests in the batch will take about 20hrs. Unfortunately you Computer will not be usable for other things during that time (that's much better on Unix systems).

Hope, this would help as a schort intro. More details may be found in the document mentioned above.

But feel free to ask, if there are questions.

André
