Hi Sophie,

I mostly agree with you about Base and completly about qa tests. Actually we are doing qa-test that are not adapted to 2.0, l10n test cases are l10n oriented and smoke test are still in 1.x state. So if you're doing smoke tests, there is no case for Base.

Andre and Joost, shall we design a bunch of smoke test cases for Base before 2.0.2 ? and shall we add the new functionalities (like digital signatures, mailing by e-mail, etc...) to the test case ? More and more NLC projects will qa'ed their versions and this is great, keeping the tests updated will ensure an equal quality for all of us. I'm willing to help here if you give me some hint on how-to write smoke tests :)

I agree, that we need to update the tests.
You may use http://qa.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=53051 for collecting new test cases.

For the "how-to write a smoke test" I do not have a quick answer. The problem is, that we need to target different things with manual testing. So we would have different sets of tests. But most of those tests could be written from a common template. Second step might the be to write some test cases based on this template. .. Just write down, what you are testing.

After this has been done, we cann refine the work, sort testcases out oor make it more precise.

I hope, I can come up with such a template, but not this week. So if anybody has good ideas, please file a draft.

André
