Hello Thorsten,
Thank You for the quick reply.
It's unfortunate that I cannot test OO with and without java.
How difficult do you imagine it would be to remove any functions that
use java from the
included .bas test scripts?
I wouldn't start doing this ;-)
I don't see a sense in testing/using OOo without Java.
You would have to run all, about 200 tests, to get every function
that uses Java and put a function on it, not to run, if no
java is available....
Basically what I'm wondering is if the tests have 1 or 2 functions that
use java or if it's hundreds of edits.
I would guess for the 100....

thanks,
Ian

Hi Ian,
we expect to have java available in OOo for automated tests.
There are several functions in OOo, e.g wizards, that need a
working java installation. When an automated test is run,
that calls a function in OOo that needs java, then the message
box from OOo comes up, telling you to install java.
We have not prepared our automated tests, to handle this
messagebox, so it stays open, and makes the test fail.
Our tests are also not prepared to handle the selection of
'no java' from the jvmsetup.
I would like to recommend to install and configure java before you
run automated tests.
cheers
