Is there some way I can convert 100s of Word DOC test files to PDF via OO with some API or macro? I don't want to do it by hand.
I think this can, though I haven't tried: http://udk.openoffice.org/python/python-bridge.html I am assuming the OO generated PDF version has the same rendering on screen with OO. Has someone done something like this already? Is PDF an appropriate strategy? I noticed MS Office '97 (beta) has this Microsoft document imaging format (mdi). Older MS Office versions I think can export to TIFF: http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/assistance/HP062193601033.aspx Though I don't think TIFF/mdi export is possible with OO. Is there a collection of Word DOC tests with their references like this somewhere? I aim to compare a Work'97 PDF to a OO PDF side-by-side of the same Word DOC to see if there are rendering issues for QA. Perhaps I'll convert the PDFs again to JPEG for some sort of rough image/visual diff.
