But is that Vista on a physical machine, or on a virtual machine under VMWare? > My guess is that either your download is corrupt Installs fine on windows XP Pro (also in a virtual machine under VMWare). If the download was corrupt, it would give the same errors under XP (and probably 98SE as well). Anyhow, the MD5sum checks out.... > or hardware is faulty. Since everything works (Vista installed without problems, runs well, other software has installed fine), hardware is unlikely to be the problem. I may be because it is a virtual machine, which is why I'm interested in whether anyone else has tried it using VMWare Server (as distinct from on a physical machine). Virtualization is leaping ahead, and I believe it will be only a matter of time before this becomes the norm in enterprise. If OO.o won't install or run properly on a virtual machine, we need to know *now*, so the causes can be determined and hopefully fixed. True, at this point in time it isn't really important, but by the time we get to 3.0...... > > > -----Original Message----- > > From: Alex Fisher [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] > > Sent: Sunday, October 08, 2006 3:18 PM > > To: [email protected] > > Subject: [qa-dev] 2.0.4rc3 on Windows Vista RC1. > > > > Has anyone been testing this platform?
