Hi Lars,

sorry for the late reply. :-(

Thanks for this useful and powerful tool. I had the chance to be at a presentation of this tool some times ago (wasn't in final status at that time). I think the use case of this tool isn't clear enough. So the reactions isn't so enthusiastically.

This tool can be used to identify regressions in layout of documents quickly and easily. A developer should use it to check if a bugfix/new feature doesn't break the layout of existing documents. The QA can use it to check bugfixes/new features for regressions in document layout. In my opinion this tool should be mandatory for CWS, which want to integrate changes in file format or document layout.

As I know inside Sun a server is running with this tooling. But isn't used as much as it should. :-( Is it also possible to bring such a server in the world of OOo?

The page on OOo about ConvWatch is good. But it isn't easy to find. Is it possible to create an entry on OOo-Wiki [2] with some shorter information and the link to the web-page?

Thanks,
  Thorsten

Hi all,

I happy to announce the availability of the documentation for ConvWatch.

ConvWatch is a tooling that has been integrated into the qadevOOo environment to compare documents by their graphical representation.

You can find the documentation here:

Kind regards,
