Hi!

I am writing here in function as the OOo CWS Gatekeeper to get the existing policies and rules more known from the people who have to use them. Only a known policy, rule is good for a well working process.

Under [1] you can read "new Features and Bug-fixes should integrate without Regressions and the quality should be always able to release."

There is a special case if a bug fix in a child workspace (CWS) results into a visible bug which was hided in the MASTER workspace (MWS). The developer may be will say that he hasn't introduced this issue because it is also (hided/masked) in the MWS. It's not his job to fix it. Okay, but it's the QA Representative's job not to approve such a CWS without fixing a _known_ additional and visible issue. Defect masking [2] is a special case but we have to wait for the fix in that CWS otherwise we would increase the numbers of issues in the MWS.

So, the sentence under [1] also means (as I understand it):

Approve CWS without regressions also if the defect was masked in the MWS.

If you have concerns, suggestions, questions, etc. feel free to discuss it here and be sure that your words will be read but think about that: I haven't made the most policies, I have to control that an approved CWS follow the policies. If you find issues in these policies write them the owner/author of the documents, not me. Thank you!

Cu,
Jogi
OOo CWS Gatekeeper
