you have to go to the incredible new qa site: http://qa.openoffice.org/
,search for your favorite application team (f.e. the database team ;)
and write the team lead a mail, containing info about what you would
like to do in the team, what your intention and expectation of oo qa
work is, what your technical qualification and experience are etc. - the
team lead will give you further info, coach you and find the proper role
in the project for you
