Now do you have no longer a Fontwork Gallery object but you have a 3D-Scene.

 Then double click the fontwork text

Now you have entered the 3D-Scene.

You cannot drag it out of the scene, but only move it inside the scene.

Yes, when using 'Convert-To 3D' all lines are turned to extrusion objects.

Yes, it is confusing, because you have to kind of drawing objects, the
'shapes' to which the fontwork gallery objects belong and the old kind
of drawing objects.

Perhaps the chapter 7 of the new Draw Guide gives you some hints about
3D in OOo. If you cannot access it, I can sent it with email directly to
you.
