Hi limeiying, *, 2008/8/13 limeiying <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>: > > I am in a puzzle about manual line break mentioned in issue 13870 > (http://qa.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=13870). > But I don't know why this issue has been set as "won't fix"
It has been marked as won't fix because there is no intention to change the current behaviour. > > One: > when the Text is entered to a cell directly (not via the "formula bar") e.g. > aaa(Ctrl+Enter)bbb(Ctrl+Enter)ccc; > copy cell & paste to a new cell (Ctrl + c, Ctrl + v) > -------correctly pastes. Yes, you paste the contents as is that way. > select the input cell again & copy input line from formula bar, paste into > new cell > -------incorrectly pastes, "aaa" into new cell, "bbb" into next cell and > "ccc" into next cell. This is consistent with the fact that you cannot enter manual linebreaks using the formula-bar, but only when editing the cell directly. > Another: > Input some characters into the formula bar, Ctrl + Enter to make a manual > line break for the cell, but it doesn't work. Namely, > can't input manual line break into the formula. Yes. Exactly. You cannot enter it in the formula bar, only in the direct editing. > In my opinion, inputting some special charaters into the formula bar is > necessary. Well, good that opinions can differ :-) There are other issues already to allow insertion of newlines with formulas or character codes. But I'm not in product planning anyway, I cannot tell other people to work on a fix or something. I think if you want to work on a patch yourself/in your team, it would be best to mail either the user-experience list and/or the spreadsheet list to get a more detailed answer on whether the fix will be accepted and if not, why not. Wontfix in general only means that the person the issue is assigned to will not do anything regarding that issue, but if there is a patch the fix will not be rejected (there are exceptions however, so better check with the corresponding sub-project before spending unnecessary work) ciao Christain --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] For additional commands, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
