Hi, todays automated testing requires testscripts based on the same version (currently DEV300m36 or OOO300m12) as the OpenOffice.org to be tested. However it is possible to run those testscripts against an OpenOffice.org older or newer. But this could lead to some unforeseeable errors and inconsistencys creating wrong testresults. This has to be prevented during automated testing and so my idea was to integrate "version checking" into the framework of automated tests. As we can't take online testing for granted this must work offline also. When Maho started uploading checkouts of testautomation scripts I asked him to add a file to the archive holding the version information of current testautomation scripts. This version then will be compared with installed version of OpenOffice.org and the selected script will then start only if versions are matching. If you have any other ideas or want to help implementing this feature we'll appreciate it.
