First of all, I think "relea...@ooo" is the right place to discuss

we don't make release engineering.
Where's the right place?
As I've said, I think "relea...@ooo" is the right place...

He asked for a metapackage which depends on others.
Well... that's valid for repositories using APT
I think this means we want OpenOffice.org to run an apt repository.
Seriously!
No, we don't.
He though a metapackage would address the issue.
OK - maybe I am just off in never-never land here but... as I see it
there is absolutely nothing stopping someone, or a couple of someones,
from creating a ppa over at launchpad.net. Then using the resources at,
oh say, build.opensuse.org to build the needed files.
Offer a way for new Ubuntu users to just add the ppa.launchpad.net
repository via the GUI and install the vanilla OO.o packages via the GUI
tools also.
Now - beyond the "who gonna do it?" question, am I missing something
technical hurdle in this scenario?
Who says everything has to be done by "official" channels, anyway?
