The question is - is the problem bigger then would be expected, given the size and nature of the project, the development tools/methods used, and the number of people working on the project; their proficiency with those tools and methods, and with the current code line?

So my question would be rather - to the QA Management staff.

Are the defect numbers in line with projects of similar makeup? If so, then to what are you measuring - only on past performance within this project, or against some historic data from other similar projects.

Are they within the bounds of what you expected to see at this point?

The blog entry certainly addressed parts of those questions.

(with all due respect the number of downloads has absolutely nothing (or at best very little) to do with regards to answering these questions)
