To make my self more clear.
Qpid is an open source project and there **should NOT** be any
barriers for entry.
Ideas/code should be based on merit and not on how long you have been at Qpid.
So I agree with Carl that the starter items are *not* a requirement,
but they do provide a gentle introduction to the project.
We have had newcomers who took on really large areas, for example the
windows port and have been quite successful.

As for Etienne, the reason I suggested to have a stab at some starter
JIRA's in parallel to the clustering discussion was due to the fact
that the clustering discussion will likely take time and realistically
the finner details can only be hatched out once the core broker
design/code has stabilized. IMO that is going to take a few more
months. Until that time Etienne could you the opportunity to get
familiar with the project and build karma and credibility.

But it's only a suggestion. Any newcomer to the project (including
Etienne) should be encouraged to find a place where they are
comfortable to start with.
Otherwise we will find people turning away from Qpid bcos we have too
much process/bureaucracy.

Rajith
