Environment: Client is configure to use the 0.8 spec. Broker is
rabbitmq 1.7. Source code is unfortunately not precisely known, though it's
roughly two months old. I can dig further if needed.

I occasionally see traceback below in our logs. This is hard to consistently
recreate though.
