Marvin Völter created PROTON-2552:
-------------------------------------

Summary: installation with python 3.10 fails on windows
                 Key: PROTON-2552
                 URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/PROTON-2552
             Project: Qpid Proton
          Issue Type: Bug
          Components: build, python-binding, release
    Affects Versions: proton-c-0.37.0
         Environment: Windows 10
            Reporter: Marvin Völter
         Attachments: consoleOutput.txt

Dear Developers,

I am trying to install python-qpid-proton via the pip install
python-qpid-proton command. For python 3.9.13 it works fine, but when i try the
command with python 3.10.2 or the latest python 3.10.4 I get errors and the
installation fails.

The errors are syntax error in this form "cproton_wrap.c(3131): error C2059:
syntax error: ';'". So I guess the build pipeline on windows seems broken. I
attached the console output with the errors. Can you help me fix this or at
least answer the question if the error will be fixed in the next versions?

Thanks and best regards

Marvin
