Hi All,
So we're starting the countdown towards release. I wonder what we need to do
on the docs front and if it's integrated into the release/dist tools ?
Are other people's docs for 0.8 already in svn as part of the existing 0.7
docbook ?
We already have the following in DocBook:
- Programming in Apache Qpid
http://qpid.apache.org/books/0.7/Programming-In-Apache-Qpid/html/index.html
- AMQP Messaging Broker (Implemented in C++)
http://qpid.apache.org/books/0.7/AMQP-Messaging-Broker-CPP-Book/html/index.html
- AMQP Messaging Broker (Implemented in Java)
http://qpid.apache.org/books/0.7/AMQP-Messaging-Broker-Java-Book/html/index.html
I have some material to contribute to the C++ broker book.
The Java broker book is probably where you want to put some of the stuff
you are writing. It can use some attention.
The sources are in qpid/doc/book. The structure of the files is
described in qpid/doc/book/README.txt.
I've got a couple of docs to put into the docbook, but been putting it off
for a while since I'm on windows and thus need to do some stuff, haven't got
there yet.
If you have something in Word format, Antiword can be helpful as a first
conversion step. The following converts to DocBook format:
$ antiword -xdb *.doc
I'm available to help on this, if you need me. I think you have my phone
number, if not, ask and I'll send it to you.
