I did indeed overrun with that JIRA. There is a patch up for review now.
It only covers the c++ broker (though I've stubbed the methods on java
to avoid breaking the build). I didn't have enough knowledge of the java
broker just yet, but would be happy to contribute a patch post 0.10.
