Currently there is a check in Socket::connect that tries to make sure we don't
try to connect to the same endpoint that the local end is bound to, this can
happen in rare circumstances when connecting to localhost when the OS decides
to bind the local end to a port that has just been given up by an exiting
application that we are just about to retry connecting to.
However the existing test doesn't canonicalise the endpoint names so it might
try to do a string compare of "localhost:1234" with "127.0.0.1:1234" and fail
even though it should succeed.
