It seems the test failure I observe above can be observed with earlier versions
of BDB too with the IBM JDK (test run in a loop against version 5.0.73, 5.0.84
- both showed the same issue). Since the issue is not related to the new
version of BDB JE, I will mark this Jira as closed.
