The passing of structured data between the test framework and the shims on the
command-line is currently using a python-like format which is hand-encoded in
the various shims. However, a more standard format (such as JSON) which has
library support in many target languages would remove an entire layer of
potential bugs and testing would be beneficial.
I propose replacing the current hand-encoded implementation in the test
framework and in the Python and JMS shims with JSON. Comments on this choice
and the suitability of other potential libs is welcome. I hope to start a
thread on this topic.
