For now I check explicitly for the string "undefined" and replace it with the
empty string. This should revert to the old behaviour.
One problem with this is that if someone puts in "undefined" as the actual
value it will be ignored :(
Unfortunately, I did not find a way to make dojo behave in a reasonable way.
There seems to be no way to reliably determine whether an attribute is defined
on a widget or not.
