You will need to install the proton-C libraries first, you can do this from packages, e.g. on Fedora or RHEL: yum install qpid-proton-c-devel # RHEL, old fedora dnf install qpid-proton-c-devel # On more recent fedora Or you can download the proton source and build it for yourself.
