For the console, this boils down to:
* prompt for a username / password on the connect page
* pass the username / password to the connect request
There will be a different Jira to allow the http enabled listener to use the
username/password and authenticate. Currently authentication works if you go
though a non-http listener, but not a http enabled listener.
