This is expected and a consequence of how the central download page chooses to
presents the various clients and servers, which some people are only looking
for one of at a given time, and how the component downloads and presentation
have evolved over time.
All of the components used to be in a single download previously, but were
mostly separated into individual repositories, downloads, releases etc some
years ago. The C++ client and broker however share common code and were always
joined in a single build though and remained that way. The main download page
presents as a list of the individual clients and servers components, so that
people can find the specific download package they need if they are only after
one component, and links to those downloads as well as component overviews and
individual release pages etc. Some of the older clients were presented as
having a common API collectively considered the 'Qpid Messaging API', and so
the C++ clients 'component link' still goes to a kind of landing page around
that, while the C++ broker 'component link' does not.
It has been this way for perhaps 5 years now without note of any confusion etc
that I can recall, so I dont think we are causing anyone particular troubles
with it. I dont personally see it as something needing explicitly changed,
unless there is a policy being violated in which case we shall of course update
it.
