In the recent Travis builds of master, there was one passing run on macOS. I
saw a pass once as well, on my own Travis account.
Here is the first and last builds of the 10 builds of master I looked at

This means to me that the tests are essentially fine on macOS, there are just
flaky failiures, with the possible exception of {{system_tests_multicast}}
which fails with high probability. I am going to close this issue as done and
open another, about deflaking the tests.
Before I do that, I am considering writing to mailing list about interest in
macOS support, just to possibly reevaluate if this work is meaningful or not.
Tests and their [failure counts]
* 14 - system_tests_link_routes [2x]
* 20 - system_tests_one_router [2x]
* 34 - system_tests_distribution [1x]
* 42 - system_tests_topology [2x]
* 51 - system_tests_edge_router [2x]
* 59 - system_tests_multicast [8x]
There was one infra fail when downloading MacPorts. The job did not run any
tests.
