Quarks is targeted at edge systems, especially (but not limited to) Internet of 
Things, so as said above it seems unlikely an IoT device would have direct 
access to an HDFS cluster.
Agree that the use case of Quarks running on each machine in a data centre 
could have access to an HDFS cluster.

However if there's a use case for it that someone needs and/or someone is 
willing to contribute it then it could be a useful addition to Quarks for some.
