I submitted the suitable name search for our new name, Apache Edgent, about a month ago (https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/PODLINGNAMESEARCH-105). So far, I have not heard anything back. Should begin to switch to Edgent now, even though we do not have approval yet? The advice I got from the incubator list is that we can change the name any time; we just run the risk that we would have to do it again if the name is not approved.
I think the Edgent name is pretty clean, so I think it is likely the name will be approved. My opinion is that we should go ahead and change the name, as I think that it's better to use our new name so that new developers coming to our community know us as Edgent, and we hopefully more avoid confusion. I am willing to submit the infrastructure requests to change the name, but want to find out how everyone feels about whether to proceed now or wait. Kathy
