Here's a more radical solution, which I think I suggested several years ago but 
never followed up on.  The Stepper is not an action, but a toggle switch, whose 
setting affects both the Definitions pane (via Run) and the Interactions pane 
(repl).

Seriously, I had a feeling there was something like that, but didn't take the 
time to open DrR and look for it.
