Fang-Yu Rao updated RANGER-5641:
--------------------------------
Description: (was: In [RANGER-4952: Add support for Hive
4.0.1|https://github.com/apache/ranger/commit/50f75d7d37], we added the support
for the resource of DATA CONNECTOR for Hive. It would be good to port this to
cdh_main so that operations against DATA CONNECTOR would be properly authorized.
Without [RANGER-4952: Add support for Hive
4.0.1|https://github.com/apache/ranger/commit/50f75d7d37], it's not clear to me
if CREATE/DROP/SELECT a data connector in Hive would require any permission.
The Impala project would also benefit from this because Impala has a very
similar concept called DATA SOURCE. Currently, dropping a DATA SOURCE does not
require any privilege, because the resource type (DATA CONNECTOR or DATA
SOURCE) is not really supported.)
> Consider porting RANGER-4952 to cdh_main
