I played around with the ldap tool. It is a great tool to begin with, but I
felt we need to make a few enhancement to make it more usable:
Challenges faced:
1. The error messages were not very intuitive
2. The options provided are not clear. We might have work on the documentation
3. The tool had some implicit assumption of group mapping and it broke when I
used it with an AD setup differently
4. I feel, the tool should also give a command option like ldapsearch, so it is
easy to try out different options.
5. It should give an option to list all the attributes for an user
6. Generate the ldap properties required by Ambari
If anyone wants to work on this, then we should start a discussion thread to
come up with the V2 requirements.
