For temporary, try this post, it mentioned about this problem as well.
And the solutions there were increasing the limits.

But I think the key length restriction should keep the default value.
Because there are large number of users using the MySql version 5.1, installed
via yum in Centos 6.x, and the global property
[noformat]Innodb_large_prefix[noformat] is only available after 5.4.
