Hi dev, The Project Management Committee (PMC) for Apache Ratis is delighted to announce that Xinyu Tan has joined the PMC!
Xinyu (github: OneSizeFitsQuorum) became a Ratis committer in 2024. After that he continued contributing to Ratis, most notably, rolling out multiple releases. He was the release manager for Ratis 3.1.1, 3.1.2 and 3.1.3. He is now working on the upcoming Ratis 3.2.0 release. He is also a contributor to the Apache IoTDB, which uses Ratis for its consensus framework. He compiled a research document on choosing a Java implementation of the Raft library in 2022 [1]. The document was one of the key decision-makers [2] in selecting Ratis as the strong consistency protocol implementation for the IoTDB consensus framework. He shared the motivation behind Apache IoTDB's choice of Ratis at CommunityOverCode Asia 2024 [3]. He also helped bring contributors from the IoTDB community to the Ratis community. The PMC - Project Management Committee - manages and guides the direction of the project, and is responsible for inviting new committers and PMC members to steward the longevity of the project. See https://community.apache.org/pmc/responsibilities.html if you're interested in learning more about the rights and responsibilities of PMC members. Please join us in welcoming Xinyu to their new role in our project!
