Made some simple changes to make it visually more clear that this is an overlay
and give it a cleaner look. There's also the option of hiding all the other
gadgets and page content but I liked the idea of keeping it an overlay, cluing
in the user that you're still on the same page, all has not been lost, etc.,
etc.
Definitely open to alternatives.
