The jpa caching definitely helps: in my tests a two-widget page rendering goes
down from 18 (yes: I'm seeing some slower rendering this morning, not sure why)
to about 7 seconds. Still not great but much better.
So I think that looking into jpa caching certainly is useful but it cannot
serve as stop gag.
