Hi everyone,

Here’s a brief summary of our weekly *Apache ResilientDB (Incubating)*
community
meeting held on *November 3, 2025* for those who couldn’t attend.

*Attendees:*
Chenyi Zhou, Devang Borkar, Harish Krishnakumar, Henry Chou, Junchao Chen,
Mohammad Sadoghi, Shaokang Xie, Zehong Ruan

*Brief of Meeting:*

This week’s discussion focused on ongoing pull-request cleanup, deployment
updates for ResCanvas and Rust Canvas, and planning for the upcoming demo
paper highlighting AI tools across the ResilientDB ecosystem. The team also
finalized the transition toward unified communication through the
ResilientDB Discord server, ensuring better collaboration and transparency
within the contributor community.

*Action Items:*

   -

Update and notify reviewers for cleanup-related pull requests; remove
dynamically generated config files from the source distribution; and create
an issue to handle license headers for configuration files.
   -

Refine and test October Fest Hackathon features with Chris before
deployment; push drawing-toolkit changes as a PR to the monorepo; and
coordinate with Kunjal for dev-server access.
   -

Continue test-case fixes, prepare the pull request, and notify Junchao
   for review.
   -

Deprecate older standalone repositories under the new monorepo design
and add deprecation notices linking to the updated structure.
   -

Move ongoing project communication and developer discussions to
the ResilientDB Discord server, maintaining open collaboration while
   preserving decision-making transparency.

*Pull Request Progress and Deployment*Harish reported progress on three
cleanup pull requests addressing repository hygiene and configuration
management. He resolved issues #187–189, covering the removal of sensitive
keys, addition of header files, and cleanup of redundant directories.
License-header additions to configuration files were deferred due to
KV-service parsing constraints. Junchao approved the interim changes, and
Harish will update the PRs accordingly.

*Project Updates and Deployment Planning*Henry confirmed completion of
Docker Compose setup for Rust Canvas and discussed resolving UX issues with
Chris prior to Vercel deployment later this week. Devang confirmed his
project’s deployment and ongoing debugging of a feature issue.

*AI Tools Demo Prototype*Mohammad and Harish outlined plans for a new demo
showcasing AI-driven tools such as *Resilience*, *Beacon*, and an agent
built using the *Goose* framework. The demo aims to demonstrate AI’s role
in code generation, debugging, monitoring, and protocol comprehension.

*Monorepo Design and Toolkit Integration*The team reviewed repository
deprecations under the new monorepo structure. Harish will coordinate with
contributors on progress, while Henry prepares to merge the drawing toolkit
into the monorepo. The team also discussed creating an “applications”
folder to group active ecosystem projects for external contributors.

*LLM Implementation and Toolkit Priorities*Henry described upcoming LLM
functionality for ResCanvas, requiring backend and frontend updates. He
also shared progress on the toolkit, custom brushes, canvas templates, and
Docker setup. The toolkit remains the quarter’s top priority.

*Communication and Collaboration*The team agreed to centralize developer
discussions on the *ResilientDB Discord server* to foster real-time
collaboration, onboarding, and support, while ensuring formal decisions and
updates remain being posted on the mailing list.

*Ending Note:*

The meeting reflected strong collaboration across projects and
contributors, with notable progress on code cleanup, monorepo unification,
and feature deployment. The team’s emphasis on open communication,
structured documentation, and community engagement continues to strengthen
ResilientDB (Incubating) as it advances toward its next release and Apache
graduation milestones.
