Hi everyone,
Here’s a brief summary of our weekly *Apache ResilientDB (Incubating)*
community
meeting held on *February 17, 2026* for those who couldn’t attend:

Attendees: Bismanpal Anand, Harish Krishnakumar, Junchao Chen, Jim Brower,
Josh Hutton, Kenny Sun, Mohammad Sadoghi, Shaokang Xie

Brief Summary
The team discussed the status of the current release and plans for future
development. They reviewed the progress of various projects, including Raft
consensus and smart contract concurrency. The group decided to vote on
adding Kenny, Kunjal, and Chris as committers. They also discussed the need
to update architecture diagrams and verify lines of code. The team agreed
to follow up on implementing Hot Stuff and Thunderbolt protocols. The
conversation ended with a review of upcoming milestones and a discussion of
the graduation process.
*Action Items:*

   - *Initiate votes for new Apache ResilientDB Committers*
   - *Check with the team working on the lightweight read-only transaction
   about their interest/progress*
   - *Follow up with regarding Hot Stuff implementation*
   - *Continue work on smart contract implementation and coordination with
   the donation platform (Charitap) team*
   - *Continue work on Thunderbolt smart contract concurrency control
   implementation for next release*

Release Candidate Status Update
The team discussed the status of a release candidate and confirmed that,
while the main code is included, some refinements and name changes are
still in the master branch and not yet in the release. Bismanpal reported
that website changes were completed, including updating download links and
adding a verification procedure. The team also clarified that Kenny, who
submitted his ICLA form about half a year ago, is not currently a PPMC
member but should start onboarding process soon.

ResilientDB Committer Votes Discussion
The team discussed adding Kenny and Kunjal as committers for the
ResilientDB project. They agreed to initiate votes for both Kenny and
Kunjal to become committers, with Kenny needing to share his previous
project commits. Mohammad also suggested considering other active
contributors with code in the master for committer roles before pursuing
PPMC status. Bismanpal mentioned potential candidates, including those
whose projects were merged. The team discussed voting for new committers,
with Harish suggesting Chris as a candidate due to his UI contributions and
long-term involvement. Mohammad proposed voting for Kenny, Chris, and
Kunjal, with Harish and Bisman splitting the voting responsibilities. They
also discussed future development steps, including exploring the raft
consensus work by Jim and Josh, the Gas implementation, and the ReSQL
project for storage, which Harish proposed to target for the next release.

Consensus Protocol Development Milestones
The team discussed several key milestones for their next release, including
Junchao's work on the supporting smart contract for the currency control
protocol and the implementation of the HotStuff protocol. Harish mentioned
that they currently have four consensus implementations in the codebase:
PBFT, PoE (without view change), GOBFT, and a proof-of-work by Juncao. The
team agreed that getting Junchao's Thunderbolt paper merged and
implementing a basic version of Hot Stuff were important priorities, with
Dakai taking the lead on the latter. Harish also noted that while the
lightweight read-only transaction project was still active, he would reach
out to the team to check on its status.

Project Progress and Release Planning
The team discussed progress on various projects, including Josh's work on
core Raft functionality and testing, with 31 test cases completed and 11
more needed. Bismanpal reported on the smart contract implementation and
coordination with the donation platform team, while Harish mentioned
ongoing work on architecture diagrams and verification of lines of code.
The team agreed to follow up on several items for the next release,
including gas implementation, vector indexing, and documentation updates.
