Well, My understanding is there are some features which are not supported in Ripple. In that case this message pop ups which allows us to enter the value the app is expecting. It's a kind of mock. And the status bar plugin is outside of Cordova core API's(Anyhow nothing is core as of now:)). And Ripple doesn't emulate that exactly and so it provides that option to allow to mock the value the plugin is expecting.
