Hi,

Following the discussion in Apache RocketMQ PPMC on graduating Apache RocketMQ
from incubation to a Top Level Project, starting this voting thread within the
RocketMQ community.

Apache RocketMQ entered into incubation during Nov. 2016. Since then, we
announced two incubating versions(pass to release on RC5 and RC1), established
user email list(not only dev and private list), attended ApacheCon 2017, and
organized two global hackathon and one community meetup. By today, more than
100 companies including Tencent, Didi and China Telecom (All net worth over $10
billion) are using the Apache RocketMQ.

Moreover, To serve the community better, we created and maintained two
repositories, one as our kernel version and the other one is for community
contributions. In the community repository, the community contributed some
integrated projects with some other Apache TLPs like Apache Storm, Apache
Ignite, Apache Spark, Apache Flume, Apache Beam(in progress). The community
contributed projects are even merged into the main repository of Apache Storm
and Apache Ignite. Moreover, the community also developed data connections with
MySQL, Docker and JMS to allow easy data migration between Apache RocketMQ and
mainstream data platforms/standards. Last but not least, the community is also
developing multi-language support version, such as go and C++. According to our
data, more than 80% of the contributions doesn’t come from the donator Alibaba
Group. .

Please vote on the resolution:

[ ] +1 Graduate Apache RocketMQ from the Incubator.
[ ] +0 No opinion
[ ] -1 Don't graduate Apache RocketMQ from the Incubator (please provide the
reason)

This VOTE will be opened for the next 72 hours.

We’d appreciate any feedback you can provide at this stage to help ensure the
project has all bases covered to become a successful Apache TLP.

Thank you for your attention.

Best Regards,
Von Gosling
