At this point, I've made the changes/fixes that I would like to see in Roller 5.0 and I have updated the Install, User and Template guides.
I was originally planning to make a Release Candidate (RC) build available this weekend, but I think RC sends the wrong message. I think we'll want to do more than just bug fixing before we release 5.0, there will be some adjustments to a couple of features. I don't want to rule out small new features before we go RC. So, I think beta is a better name for where we are now. A beta release is not an official Apache release and is meant for testing and feedback only. I'll be making a beta1 build available today and I'll make clear that it is not an official Apache release, is meant only for testing and feedback. I'll put the build in my personal area on people.apache.org and I will not push it out to Apache mirrors. If you object to any of this or have helpful suggestions then please speak up.
