Hello Group,

The problem was not with Tomcat or Roller. I had recently updated my JDK to
7. It was JDK 7 that was causing the slowness. I have not fully
investigated as why the application is slow in Jdk7 but I believe the
reason is due to the new SplitVerifier option. For now I have moved back
to JDK 6, and now the application is working quite alright.

Thanks
Vik

Subject: Why is Roller 5 slow on tomcat 7?
To: [email protected]

Hi Group,

I am trying to setup a new roller project. For me the Roller 5 is very
slow. I saw a couple of mails on web around memory leaks but in my case
even if I increase the MaxHeap size to 1gb (I did not change the
minHeapSize though), it still remained slow. And the memory is not an issue
because that memory was never used.

Before starting to do profiling or monitoring the application i wanted to
know if anyone else has experienced this issue and if there is any known
solution for this. I have intel i7 (quad core) system, and its hardly
used. So computation power or memory is not an issue. I am using custom
template, and my guess is may be thats giving some issue.

I will appreciate any help in this regard.

thanks,
Vik
