I wanted to point out a couple of things that may help you move forward: 1) The current released version of the framework is 0.4.0, so in your command you should change that (unless you are testing an older version for some reason). https://www.apache.org/dist/incubator/samoa/0.4.0-incubating/ 2) In the current version (0.4.0) the S4 adapter has been decommissioned because S4 was not being maintained properly. It is still available in the 0.3.0 version but I am not sure you will find much support for it with respect to S4 Perhaps it is better to play with newer engines like Storm or Flink.
