My proposed patch is up attached to the issue. I have assigned the issue to you, Niklas. As I said in the issue, the change is pretty small that it shouldn't affect the existing functionality.
Yes, looks about right. But we're supposed to be feature-complete for 2.0, so I don't really want to add it there now.
