I found your development page for the Google Summer of Code program, and a couple of the spreadsheet projects intrigued me. The first is the creation of a set of data analysis tools, and the other is validation of spreadsheet functions.
Before attempting to officially apply for either of these projects, I was wondering if either--or both--is currently open. I have a pretty good amount of experience with statistical analysis and would be very happy to put this knowledge to use (and to learn more) by attempting to work on either project. If you have any boilerplate-style information on either of these projects more than what is located on the development.openoffice.org website (I checked out sc.openoffice.org but couldn't find too much specific), I would be happy to view that before writing a proposal.
If either is still available, I shall write up a formal proposal as soon as I can.
